Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is recruiting for Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistants who assist Licensed Occupational Therapists in the delivery of occupational therapy plans of care. Occupational Therapy Assistants conduct treatment sessions; observe responses to treatment; modify treatment technique during sessions as needed under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist; provide instruction in daily living activities and provide encouragement to patients to attempt new activities; communicate with the supervisor and other health team members about the patient's therapy progress, problems, or treatment plans; document and maintain charts and records; assist in providing caregiver instruction; order supplies and maintain inventories of tools and equipment used in activities. These positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Positions participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits. Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.
Minimum RequirementsLicense: Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT). List the license number and expiration date on the application. A legible copy of the OTA license is required upon appointment. -AND- Certification: All candidates must possess and maintain Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Desired QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Office is highly desirable. Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
