Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our cardiovascular services department. In this role, you will support our mission to improve and save lives by providing high-quality invasive cardiovascular imaging and procedural care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures. Working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will help ensure safe, accurate, and timely testing and treatment for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
As a Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS, you will prepare patients and procedure rooms for a wide range of cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures, including diagnostic heart catheterizations, coronary interventions, peripheral vascular procedures, and other invasive cardiovascular studies. You will operate and monitor specialized imaging and hemodynamic equipment, accurately record and interpret data, and assist the physician throughout the procedure by anticipating needs, maintaining a sterile field, and supporting safe device and contrast utilization. You will carefully monitor patient status, including rhythm, hemodynamics, and procedural tolerance, promptly communicating changes to the physician and team to support rapid, appropriate interventions.
You will uphold strict adherence to sterile technique, infection prevention practices, and radiation safety standards to protect both patients and staff. Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating equipment, selecting and positioning catheters and imaging tools according to physician preference, documenting all aspects of the procedure in the electronic medical record, and contributing to post-procedure care and patient education. You will participate in quality assurance activities, equipment checks, and supply management to help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized cath lab environment.
Aligned with Methodist Health System’s culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will demonstrate respectful, patient-centered communication, explaining procedures and addressing questions to reduce anxiety and build trust. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the hospital, including emergency and critical care teams, to support timely cardiovascular care for emergent and scheduled cases. The role may require participation in call rotations, flexible scheduling, and occasional extended hours to meet the needs of acutely ill patients.
The ideal candidate brings current RCIS training and a strong foundation in cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, as well as proficiency in EKG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where attention to detail, technical precision, and calm performance under pressure are essential. Methodist Health System offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative and inclusive workplace dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate care.
