Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed patient examinations, establishing functional goals in collaboration with patients and families, implementing therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and balance training, neuromuscular re-education, and use of therapeutic modalities in accordance with established clinical guidelines and safety standards. You will regularly reassess patient progress, modify plans of care, and provide clear, timely documentation in the electronic medical record to support quality, continuity, and regulatory compliance. Education and coaching are integral parts of the role; you will teach patients and caregivers home exercise programs, safe mobility strategies, fall prevention techniques, and use of assistive devices, while promoting long-term wellness and self-management.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to program development, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and support student education and mentoring as appropriate. You will be encouraged to pursue continuing education, advanced certifications, and specialty interests that align with Altru’s commitment to innovation and high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services. Success in this role requires strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to prioritize and manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced hospital environment.
