Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our cardiovascular department. In this role, you will support our mission to improve and save lives by assisting in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Working closely with cardiologists, registered nurses, and other clinical professionals, you will help deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, peripheral vascular procedures, and related invasive studies.
As a Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS, you will prepare procedure rooms and equipment, verify patient identity and procedural consent, and assist with pre-procedure assessment to ensure patient safety and comfort. During procedures, you will scrub in and assist the physician with catheter and wire manipulation, contrast injections, and device deployment, or circulate to manage supplies, medications within scope, and documentation. You will operate and monitor specialized imaging and hemodynamic equipment, accurately capture and analyze waveforms, document procedural data in the electronic medical record, and support radiation safety and infection control standards at all times.
You will be responsible for continuous monitoring of the patient’s status throughout the procedure, recognizing changes in rhythm or hemodynamics, and promptly communicating concerns to the physician and nursing staff. In collaboration with the healthcare team, you will help manage emergencies in the cath lab, including rapid response and code situations, following established protocols to support optimal patient outcomes. Post-procedure, you will assist with patient transfer, sheath management within scope, and communication of post-procedural instructions and education to patients and families.
This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassion and integrity in every patient interaction. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, adherence to departmental policies, and accurate maintenance of logs, inventory, and equipment. As part of Methodist Health System’s inclusive and collaborative culture, you will actively support teamwork, effective communication, and mutual respect among colleagues while upholding accountability and ethical standards.
Methodist Health System offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that typically includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options, along with opportunities for professional development within a leading healthcare organization. This is an on-site, hospital-based role in a procedural environment that may require variable shifts, on-call rotations, and participation in after-hours, weekend, or holiday coverage to meet the needs of our patients and cardiovascular service line.
