The CT Tech will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT procedures, selecting and optimizing exam protocols, and operating CT scanners and related imaging systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images. You will follow radiation safety principles and ALARA guidelines, verify patient identification, obtain relevant clinical history, and ensure all required consents and safety screenings are completed prior to imaging. Duties include starting and managing IV lines, administering contrast media according to established protocols, and closely monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, particularly those coming from the Emergency Department or critical care areas.
You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure timely completion of exams and prompt communication of urgent or critical findings. The CT Tech documents all procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems, maintains exam records in PACS and RIS, and adheres to all hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards. Infection control, privacy, and patient safety practices must be consistently followed.
This position requires strong technical skills in CT imaging, a solid understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology, and the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to emergent situations. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hospital-based environment that may include emergency, inpatient, and outpatient imaging. The CT Tech will assist with quality control checks, routine equipment care, and troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and will promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Equally important is the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. The CT Tech will explain procedures clearly, address patient questions and concerns, and support patients with varying physical and emotional needs, including those who are anxious, in pain, or critically ill. You will demonstrate cultural sensitivity, maintain professionalism, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that reflects Methodist Health System’s values of integrity, compassion, and accountability.
This is a full-time position that may require rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday coverage to support 24/7 imaging services. Candidates should possess current registration as a Radiologic Technologist, CT training or experience, and applicable state licensure and certifications. Methodist Health System offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options, and opportunities for ongoing professional development within a leading Texas healthcare organization.
