Description & Requirements Elder Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MANTECH international Corporation seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will contribute to the design and implementation of advanced statistical and AI/ML solutions aimed at extracting actionable insights, assessing model performance, and applying semantic analysis techniques to improve product safety decision-making. This role emphasizes innovation, efficiency, and interpretability within modern cloud data environments, supporting strategic acceleration toward an AI-powered product safety Sentinel model that uses analytics to reduce time to intervention and protect more consumers from a broader range of hazards, faster.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Insight Extraction & Semantic Analysis:
Leverage semantic vibe coding efficiencies to uncover patterns and thematic insights from structured and unstructured data, and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable narratives through data storytelling and visualization.
Design, implement, and maintain AI techniques (e.g., product similarity) and predictive models (supervised and unsupervised) for anomaly detection, classification, regression, and pattern recognition, and perform rigorous evaluation using precision, recall, F1-score, AUC, and other metrics to ensure reliability and fairness.
Apply an innovative mindset by exploring emerging technologies, creative solutions, and novel methodologies, leveraging modern tools and frameworks (e.g., GitHub Copilot, automated pipelines, CI/CD) to streamline development, deployment, and optimize workflows for scalable cloud environments (Azure).
Minimum Qualifications:
Statistical and AI/ML Modeling Expertise:
3+ years designing, developing, and deploying statistical and AI/ML models擁ncluding regression, classification, NLP, and other predictive analytics approaches蓉sing leading-edge tools and best practices.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on Python experience (Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) with 3+ years in cloud environments (Azure; certifications a plus) and 2+ years using SQL for data querying and manipulation.
Proficient with dashboard/visualization tools (Power BI or equivalent) and integrating semantic coding techniques into ML workflows.
Strong oral and written communication for data storytelling, with experience in Git-based version control and collaborative development.
Effective Agile team contributor, supporting iterative development, shared problem-solving, and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Clearance Requirements:
Current Public Trust Desired
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position
