Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our rehabilitation department. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered physical therapy to individuals with a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, post-surgical, and medically complex conditions. You will perform comprehensive examinations, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and use therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, functional training, and modalities to help patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve function and quality of life. Working within Altru’s collaborative and community-focused culture, you will coordinate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to ensure seamless, compassionate care across the continuum. Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed evaluations, setting measurable functional goals, documenting care in the electronic medical record, educating patients and families on home programs, safety, and prevention strategies, and regularly reassessing progress to update treatment plans. You will contribute to discharge planning by providing clear recommendations for continued therapy, equipment needs, and community resources, helping patients safely transition from hospital to home or another level of care. As part of Altru’s commitment to innovation and professional growth, you will stay current with clinical best practices, participate in in-services and quality improvement initiatives, and may mentor students or newer therapists. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellness of the Grand Forks community, while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment that values compassion, integrity, and lifelong learning.
