Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high-quality care. In this PRN role, you will perform a variety of routine and advanced MRI examinations on patients of varying ages and conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient-centered care. As an MRI Technologist PRN, you will greet and prepare patients for MRI procedures, verify patient identification and exam orders, review medical histories for contraindications, and carefully explain the procedure to reduce anxiety and ensure informed consent. You will position patients accurately using immobilization devices as needed, select appropriate imaging protocols, and operate MRI equipment in accordance with established guidelines. You will administer contrast agents when ordered, monitor patients closely for adverse reactions, and respond appropriately to any changes in patient condition, upholding Methodist Health System’s commitment to integrity, compassion, and accountability. You will be expected to follow strict MRI safety protocols, including screening patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications such as implanted devices or foreign bodies, and maintaining a safe environment in and around the MRI suite. The role includes troubleshooting image quality issues, making necessary technical adjustments, and collaborating with radiologists to ensure that images are diagnostically optimal. Documentation of procedures, accurate entry of exam data into the radiology information system, and timely transfer of images to PACS are essential parts of the job. Within Methodist Health System’s collaborative and inclusive culture, you will interact respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues, demonstrating strong communication skills and a focus on patient comfort and dignity. You will support workflow by prioritizing exams based on clinical urgency, coordinating with the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient services as needed, and adapting to changing schedules and volumes typical of a PRN position. Adherence to infection control policies, HIPAA regulations, and all departmental and hospital protocols is required. This position typically requires completion of an accredited radiologic technology or MRI program, current ARRT registration in Radiography and/or MRI, and current Basic Life Support certification. Prior hospital-based MRI experience is preferred, particularly experience working with acutely ill or emergency patients.
