We are seeking
Senior Testing Specialists
who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One Shopping.
Responsibilities:
Develop testing scenarios/cases to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, boundary/negative testing, error or defect retests, usability; including automated scripts.
Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily scrums and grooming meetings.
Interact with the product delivery team; participate in product requirement/design reviews to provide input on completeness of functional requirements, product designs, and schedules.
Manually test new features, regressions, and bug validation.
Follow defect tracking processes; including software defect documentation, defect tracking tool (JIRA) utilization, ensuring open defects are monitored and escalated as needed based on aging and priority.
Partner with Software Engineers, System Integrators, Product Owners to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity.
Identify interdependencies, ambiguities or omissions, and make suggestions to improve requirements and ensure usability/testability.
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, with focus to mitigate risks.
Participate in development and execution of software test scenarios in order to identify software problems and their causes.
Develop test cases, scenarios and scripts that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests or usability.
Maintain compliance with the schedule and priority of testing activities.
Define criteria for testing, analyze test results and present results to developers and end users.

Has good judgment for when manual testing vs automated testing is necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
At least 3 years of experience in functional end-to-end testing.
At least 3 years of experience with API Testing.
At least 3 years of experience with Agile.
At least 2 years of experience in Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) methodology.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years experience with Agile.
4+ years of experience with Automation.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $109,900 - $125,400 for Senior Testing Specialist.
McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Senior Testing Specialist.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
