Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Encompass Health, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and provide exceptional, patient-centered rehabilitative care. In this role, you will evaluate patients with a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional recovery, maximize independence, and improve quality of life. Drawing on evidence-based practice, you will perform comprehensive physical therapy assessments, set measurable clinical goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team, and deliver hands-on interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and coordination activities, manual therapy, and patient and caregiver education.
Working in our dynamic inpatient rehabilitation environment, you will document assessments, progress notes, and care plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, ensuring regulatory and accreditation standards are met. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff to coordinate care, contribute to interdisciplinary team conferences, and support safe discharge planning and community reintegration. You will consistently monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate clearly with patients and families to support understanding, motivation, and adherence to home exercise and safety guidelines.
At Encompass Health Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, you will be part of a culture driven by integrity, innovation, and clinical excellence. We emphasize compassion in patient care and strong team collaboration, and we look for therapists who are proactive, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement. In this role, you will participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects, and you will have the opportunity to mentor or precept students or new staff as appropriate. You will help foster a positive, respectful work environment that values diversity, open communication, and supportive teamwork.
The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital rehabilitation setting. You should be able to manage a caseload efficiently, prioritize patient needs, and maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards at all times. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication. Comfort with electronic medical records and basic computer applications is required. A genuine passion for helping patients regain function and independence, combined with resilience and adaptability, will help you thrive in this role.
This position offers a full-time schedule in a primarily on-site clinical environment, with the potential for some flexible or hybrid components as patient needs and departmental operations allow. You can expect a supportive leadership team focused on clinical quality, safety, and staff development, as well as opportunities for growth within a leading national rehabilitation organization. If you are a licensed Physical Therapist who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care and eager to contribute to a collaborative rehab team, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital invites you to apply.
