The Donor Engagement Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing donor-facing communications and engagement initiatives. This role ensures that major donor outreach—including email communications, webinars, briefings, and proposals—is delivered on time, aligned with fundraising priorities, and executed at a high level.
This role is primarily focused on
project management and execution of excellent written, visual, and verbal donor communications , serving as the central driver of timelines, workflows, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role best suits someone who can independently manage projects and ensure strong execution, while partnering with leadership on strategy.
This role is fully remote.
Responsibilities Project Management & Coordination
Own and
manage timelines , workflows, and deliverables for donor communications projects
Serve as the
central point of coordination
across Development, Communications, Program, and Leadership teams
Track progress, flag risks , and ensure accountability across stakeholders
Build and
maintain project plans,
communications calendars, and tracking systems
Donor Engagement Execution
Execute donor email campaigns , including formatting, scheduling, and deployment
Drafting and editing of donor communications , such as briefings, whitepapers, proposals, and emails, in partnership with the Leadership and Communications team
Ensure communications are accurate, well-timed, and
aligned with strategic priorities
Manage segmentation
and list pulls in CRM systems
Events & Engagement
Plan and execute donor-facing webinars , briefings, and events
Coordinate
logistics, drive turnout, create materials with the support of presenters/principals, and project manage follow-up communications
Ensure a seamless and
professional donor experience
Systems & Process Improvement
Maintain CRM
data
and track donor communications and engagement
Support
reporting
on communications activity and performance
Identify opportunities to
improve workflows , systems, and internal processes
Our preferred candidate will have many of these characteristics and experience:
2-4+ years of experience
in project management,
development operations, fundraising, or donor
communications roles
Strong project management skills with the ability to
manage multiple workstreams
simultaneously
Experience coordinating
cross-functional projects
and
managing stakeholder input
Excellent
organizational skills
and
attention to detail
Strong written communication skills
and comfort creating
donor-facing content
Ability to manage up and drive accountability across teams
Our preferred candidate may have some of these characteristics and experience:
Experience supporting
donor communications
or
fundraising campaigns
Background in
political campaigns, advocacy
organizations, or
nonprofits
Experience planning and executing
webinars or events
Comfort using
data
to inform execution and improve processes
Experience working in
fast-paced , rapid-response environments
Experience using
CRM systems (e.g., EveryAction or similar)
Annual salary of
$80,000-85,000
as part of a transparent salary structure with clear levels of advancement, including geographic COLA depending on employee location.
