William Duff Architects (WDA) is seeking a Job Captain with strong technical and documentation experience to join our Hospitality Studio. This role will support a growing portfolio of elevated Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) projects in the Pacific Northwest, working closely with project leadership to deliver high-quality architectural documentation and coordination. WDA is an award-winning architecture firm known for thoughtful, design-driven work across hospitality, workplace, residential, retail, and community sectors. The Job Captain will play an important role supporting a
major hospitality/QSR client program , assisting project architects and project managers in delivering multiple projects simultaneously. remote-friendly , with occasional travel for site visits and project meetings (typically once per month or less). Project Documentation
Produce and coordinate accurate and well-organized construction document sets Develop architectural details and drawing packages in collaboration with project architects and project managers Ensure consistency and coordination across drawings and consultant documents Technical Coordination
Coordinate with consultants, including structural, MEP, and specialty vendors Assist with code research, product research, and technical detailing Support permitting and agency approval processes Construction Administration Support
Assist with RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation updates Participate in site coordination and field observation as needed Help maintain design intent throughout the construction process Work closely with project architects and project managers across multiple projects Contribute to internal design and coordination discussions Maintain organized project documentation and communication across teams Qualifications
4–8+ years of professional architectural experience Experience working on commercial, retail, restaurant, or hospitality projects Strong construction documentation and detailing skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects Strong organizational and communication skills Collaborative mindset and attention to detail Technical Skills
Proficiency in Revit required Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes Strong written and verbal communication skills Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture About WDA
