This is primarily a remote position without a set number of days each week required onsite. This person will only be required onsite at the Schaumburg or Chicago Loop locations when the work itself cannot be done remotely, so local candidates (current Illinois residents) are strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set IT strategy, establish goals, and develop short and long-term plans for the IT infrastructure
Lead, manage, and mentor a small team of 3 System Administrators
Manage technical support, ticketing process, on-duty schedules, and procurement for end user workstation hardware and software
Maintain and enhance network services, enterprise applications, mobile devices, and telecommunications
Administer and manage the cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and Data Center (servers, hypervisors, networking, UPS, HVAC)
Proactively lead Security efforts (network, keycards, endpoint protection, patching, email defense)
Ensure high availability and 24/7 monitoring of the technology infrastructure
Manage vendor relationships and contracts, including outsourced managed service providers
Establish and enforce the organization’s technology standards and policies
Oversee management of the organization’s backup system(s) to ensure critical systems, documents, and data are backed up offsite
Ensure organization-wide business continuity plans are in place, tested regularly, and ready
Manage execution of disaster recovery exercise(s) for the IT infrastructure and facilitate regular disaster recovery exercises with others in IT for all other IT platforms
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of successful project management and IT leadership are required
AWS cloud infrastructure experience, exposure to or working knowledge of Azure
IT Security experience with advanced knowledge of security best practices (network, keycards, endpoint protection, patching, email defense)
Hands‑on networking experience (Internet, Local Area Network, VPN, firewall)
Data Center management experience
Quality Assurance skills
