Neighborhood Healthcare PACE is a managed medical plan built around surrounding participants with a team of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists and care coordinators to help them maintain good health and a good quality of life. Our goal is to keep our seniors happy and healthy at home surrounded by their family and community.
As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 500k medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 100,000 people annually. With two PACE centers located in Riverside County, our PACE program is positioned to serve over 650 senior participants.
The PACE Senior Accountant plays a role in supporting the financial integrity and sustainability of the Neighborhood Healthcare Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with PACE, CMS, and State financial requirements.
This is a full‑time, primarily remote position, with the expectation of attending onsite meetings and events as needed.
Responsibilities
Reconciles complex general ledger accounts and investigates variances
Performs month‑end close activities, including journal entries and accruals in accordance with GAAP
Analyzes financial data to support internal and external reporting requirements
Works with cross‑functional teams (AP, Billing, Enrollment) to resolve accounting issues
Provides GL coding to other teams as requested
Records daily bank transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
Occasionally uploads vendor contracts and purchase requisitions into Coupa software, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and PACE regulatory requirements
Assists with any external/internal audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries to ensure compliance with PACE, CMS, Medicaid, and organizational requirements
Assists with various financial reports to external agencies
Researches best practices and assists with developing policies and procedures
Provides support and backup for the PACE Finance Team, as needed
Assists with ad hoc reports and completes special projects as requested
Qualifications Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
Five years of full‑cycle accounting experience required
Three years of healthcare experience required
Experience working with PACE and Medicare/Medicaid regulations preferred
Experience with Great Plains, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Coupa preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. These courses must follow AHA guidelines, but may be completed through approved online providers such as ProMed or other equivalent programs that meet recognized BLS standards.
Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Experience with Microsoft Word and accounting software, such as Great Plains
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent planning and organizational ability
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including composition, typing, and proofreading skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs/weight
Salary range: $87,500 to $127,700 annually, depending on experience.

The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
