Description B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Mechanical Manager for various locations overseas.
Responsibilities:
Ensure construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are followed
Coordinate with mechanical field superintendent on schedule, progress and technical needs
Manage material procurement in coordination with field and design needs
Manage computer-assisted drafting team for coordination of utilities and layouts
Review Engineering drawings, construction contract requirements, and material specifications
Generate client required submittals for material and methods used
Ensure documentation of progress, project closeout, and variations is maintained throughout entire construction phase
Coordinate and liaise with local subcontractors for life safety systems or other non-electrical trades
Inspects construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries
Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
Ability to relocate to the international project site for 2-4 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work with project office staff and field personnel
Ability to self-motivate and work independently
Strong computer skills are required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with all levels of the organization
Ability to speak, read, write and communicate effectively in English
Preferences:
Experience in highly technical Department of Defense or Department of State projects
Experience leading a successful DOD, COE, NAVFAC, or DOS project overseas
Physical Demands:
To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:
Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance and twist for extended periods
Have the ability to frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 75 pounds
Possess the manual dexterity to utilize and operate construction tools and/or construction equipment and machinery
Possess physical agility and mobility, to include safely maneuvering throughout the job site
To perform the duties of this job, the employee
Must be able to work 60-hours/week, six days/week, 10 hours/day
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
Will have occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites including frequent loud noises
Must be comfortable with regular work near moving mechanical parts and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt

Qualifications Education Required Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience Required 5-7 years: Preferred • Experience leading a successful DOD, COE, NAVFAC or DOS project overseas
