The Digital Specialist is responsible for enhancing Research and Economic Development's digital presence through strategic web development, content management, and digital engagement initiatives. The Digital Specialist leads the design, development, and optimization of Research and Economic Development's web ecosystem, with a primary focus on the Drupal Content Management System. This role is responsible for advancing a user-centered, accessible, and high-performing web presence that supports research visibility, innovation initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. The position ensures all digital touchpoints are accessible, user-centered, and aligned with institutional branding and communication goals. The full salary range for the Digital Specialist is $75,900.00 - $137,300.00 annually. However, the budgeted salary range for this position is up to $106,600.00. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Educational Requirements

Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way. Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work. Thorough knowledge of content management systems and/or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programs. Thorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives. Thorough understanding of organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications. Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and/or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities. Thorough interpersonal communication skills. Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems. Expertise in Drupal CMS, including, content types, views, taxonomy HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with PHP Preferred Qualifications

Produces design and layout for a variety of web applications, as well as information architecture.Designs, develops, and maintains complex web properties within the Drupal CMS, including content architecture, navigation, and user experience optimization. Builds and styles responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and support Drupal theming and module configuration. Collaborates with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective web solutions, including new site sections, landing pages, and feature integrations. Ensures all web content meets accessibility standards (WCAG), SEO best practices, and performance benchmarks. - 45% Manages social media content across all social media platforms (and all target audiences) including strategy, execution and timing. Create and maintain a social media calendar to promote events, news stories. Develop and design visually engaging content including graphics, videos, and written posts, tailored for each social platform. Manage a strategic content calendar to ensure consistent, timely updates that reflect current trends and organizational goals. Execute campaigns that enhance brand awareness, audience engagement, and event promotion. Engage with followers, respond to messages and comments, and foster a positive online community.
