PNZ Carbon is a UK-based carbon project developer focused on generating high-integrity carbon credits from domestic retrofit installations.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a highly analytical and motivated Carbon Data Analyst to join our Delivery and Data team based in Birchwood, Warrington.
*The Role*
This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional with strong analytical, statistical, and programming skills to play a key role in the operational delivery of our carbon crediting projects.
You will take ownership of large-scale datasets, oversee data integrity and reporting processes, and help calculate carbon reduction impacts and social value outcomes from retrofit and renewable energy installations across the UK.
Working closely with third-party suppliers, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders, you’ll support both operational delivery and strategic decision-making through high-quality analysis, automation, and reporting.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Calculate carbon emissions reductions and social value impacts from domestic retrofit and renewable energy measures
* Analyse, clean, validate, and interpret large datasets using R, SQL, and data warehouse platforms such as Google BigQuery
* Design and maintain automated data pipelines and processing workflows
* Prepare and validate submission-ready data files with strong attention to compliance and audit readiness
* Produce dashboards, visualisations, and reporting outputs for internal and external stakeholders
* Develop and maintain secure client-facing data interfaces and portals
* Work collaboratively with third-party data providers and delivery partners to ensure data accuracy and completeness
* Support operational reporting, performance analysis, and strategic planning activities
* Manage and support direct-report team members
*About You*
We’re looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex datasets in a fast-paced environment.
*Essential Skills & Experience*
* Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Geographic Data Science, or a related analytical discipline
* Strong experience using R and/or SQL for data analysis, cleaning, and statistical workflows
* Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based data warehouse platforms (e.g. Google BigQuery)
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Confident communication skills with the ability to work professionally with clients and stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
*Desirable*
* Master’s degree in a relevant subject
* Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
* Experience building automated workflows and data pipelines
* Experience managing or supervising team members
* Knowledge of carbon accounting or domestic retrofit energy efficiency measures
* Experience producing dashboards or data visualisations using RStudio or similar tools

* Do you have experience writing SQL queries to extract, transform, and manage data?
* Have you used data visualisation tools to create dashboards or analytical outputs, such as geospatial mapping?
* Do you have experience producing analytical reports or communicating technical findings to internal and external stakeholders?
* Do you have knowledge of carbon crediting methodologies, carbon registries, or project based emissions reduction frameworks?
* Do you understand the role of Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs) in carbon crediting or similar assurance processes?
* Are you familiar with domestic housing retrofit measures, EPC datasets, or building energy performance?
* Are you willing to take on reasonable tasks outside your day-to-day responsibilities when needed to support the company?
