Position Summary:
The Research Coordinator (RC) will be responsible for supporting the research team's work ranging from the design of research studies to dissemination activities, including the Research in Action webinar series. The RC will be a team player, leveraging their experience as a researcher to aid in pursuing and maintaining intentional research partnerships and creating successful research grant applications primarily for foundation funders. The RC will also participate in data collection, analysis, write-up, and dissemination of mixed methods research studies.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate day-to-day components of the SisterSong Research Team's portfolio of community-based participatory research studies including administrative tasks, event support and reporting, data analysis, collection, write-up and dissemination.
- Co-lead on the identification of and application(s) for grants to support the growing work and portfolio of the Research Team.
- Contribute as a thought partner on the development of new SisterSong research studies and partnerships.
- Support the growth of the research team by nurturing existing partnerships and supporting new partnerships.
- Serve as a representative of SisterSong across contexts including in RJ movement and research spaces.
- Assist as needed with cross-departmental and all-staff events including Essence Festival of Culture, the Let's Talk About Sex Conference, and Black (In)fertility Awareness Week.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, social sciences, or related.
- Two to five years of experience conducting research studies in the field of reproductive justice, sexual and reproductive health, public health, family planning, or related.
- Experience leading qualitative research project(s)
- Demonstrated track record of successfully gaining funding for the purpose of conducting research. Experience with applying to, and receiving grants from any funding source is welcome, experience receiving funding from foundations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working and/or volunteering in reproductive health, rights and justice.
- Commitment to advancing the tenets of reproductive justice.
