Position Summary
The Orthopedic Physician will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. This role will be responsible for both surgical and non-surgical patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with orthopedic conditions, injuries, and diseases.
* Perform surgical and non-surgical interventions as appropriate.
* Provide consultation services to patients, families, and referring providers.
* Collaborate with physician assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and other members of the care team.
* Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
* Participate in call coverage rotation, departmental meetings, and hospital committees as needed.
* Stay current with advances in orthopedic medicine and implement evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
* Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
* Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program.
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
* Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alaska.
* Strong surgical skills, clinical judgment, and commitment to quality patient care.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff.
Preferred Experience
* Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., sports medicine, spine, joint replacement, hand, trauma) highly desirable.
* Experience working in a hospital or multi-specialty group practice setting.
