The Physicians' Clinic of Iowa Department of ENT is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)to work as a team member within our busy practice.
Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare charts and documentation in advance of patient appointments
  • Greet and room patients while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment
  • Record vital signs and other essential health data accurately
  • Maintain and update patients' electronic health records including medications, allergies, past medical history, family history, and review of systems
  • Document physician exam findings, procedures, and diagnostic codes accurately
  • Process and send prescriptions to pharmacies
  • Handle patient and pharmacy nursing calls professionally and efficiently
  • Assist in running daily clinic operations
  • Enter and manage patient orders, referrals, and prescriptions
  • Track and log test results and patient progress notes
  • Communicate with referring providers, primary care physicians, and surgical centers as needed

Qualifications:
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant required.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, ENT experience a plus.
  • CPR certification is required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
