Located in an idyllic setting in the northernmost corner of Fairfield County, Connecticut, The Sherman School is a small, PK-8 school with approximately 250 students and 80 dedicated faculty and staff members. We offer small class sizes, and wonderful resources to support our programs.
Position/Title: Homebound Tutor
Broad Function: Homebound Tutors provide tutoring services to students who are unable to attend school. Hours vary based on student need.
Duties:
* Various hours, times, grade levels and subject areas
* Work 1:1 with student at public library or home
* Document work completed
* Maintain communication with Department of Student Services and Special Education
Supervised By: Pupil Services
Qualification Profile:
* Bachelor's Degree required
* Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers.
* Consideration will be given to the following:
* Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form.
* Various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidate's overall preparedness.
* Prior experience working with school age children.
Pay rate: $40/hr
