The Payroll Administrator plays an important role by overseeing all payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role serves as a vital connection to employees, fostering trust while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. It plays a critical part in supporting employee satisfaction, retention, and overall organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly payroll for multiple U.S. entities and biweekly payroll for Canada
* Apply and maintain accurate payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, 401k, charitable contributions, and garnishments
* Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, including payroll changes and reporting
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
* Respond to employee questions related to pay statements, tax withholding, PTO, and payroll policies
* Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations to support audits, payroll tax balancing, and management requests
* Partner with the HR team to process payroll-related changes for new hires, terminations, promotions, leave status updates, and other changes
Basic Qualifications:
* Associates degree or relevant certification.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Payroll administration.
* Analytical ability with strong attention to detail.
* Knowledge of payroll procedures, tax laws, and employment regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* Proficiency in payroll software (preferably UKG or Oracle).
* Experience implementing and migrating HRIS systems.
