IntroductionThe role involves serving as the highest level of field technical support, focusing on the systemic reliability of fleet vehicles. The position requires a subject matter expert in Compute systems to support Tier 2 Fleet Support Engineers on complex escalations. The role involves fleet-wide analysis of diagnostics and metrics to identify reliability gaps, improve repair and escalation times, and contribute to critical design changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience and skill in determining the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SW
- Deep understanding of computer architecture, GPUs, PCIe devices, SSDs, network cards
- Experience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools, parsing kernel and system logs
- Experience with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes/picoscope, CANalyzer, thermal cameras)
- Knowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN and automotive ethernet
- Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications- Knowledge of computer networking (TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, firewall and security basics)
- Experience with diagnosing complex issues with sensor systems (LiDAR, camera, radar)
- Experience with harness debugging and repair
- Proficient in Python and git/version management tools
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier 2 escalations on Compute system issues including GPU, PSU, SSD, networking
- Conduct comprehensive log review to identify hardware, software, tooling, and process failures on fleet vehicles
- Develop thorough troubleshooting guides for Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalations, enabling consistent and holistic diagnosis across all service depots
- Lead deep-dive investigations into Client failure modes using root cause analysis methodologies like 7-Step or 8D problem solving techniques
- Develop short term mitigations and long term correction actions to improve vehicle safety and update, and prevent recurring issues
- Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new vehicle components
- Monitor fleet-wide telemetry to identify emerging trends in hardware degradation or firmware/software regression before they become critical failures
- Drive closed-loop feedback by translating field failure data into engineering change requests to improve sub-system design
