Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, medical needs, or daily living assistance. This role is key in promoting independence, ensuring safety, and fostering meaningful connections.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in their home or community settings
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication reminders, and mobility support
- Encourage and support individual goals to build independence and life skills
- Implement care plans and follow instructions from nursing staff or supervisors
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment
- Document services provided and report any changes in condition or concerns to the care team
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to ensure high-quality care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or direct support preferred but not required (training provided)
