The Role
The Engineering Lead is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to process specifications across all areas of the battery manufacturing operation. This role defines the plant vision for the future, develops and executes the roadmap toward the future state—including automation initiatives and continuous improvement—manages process changes, implements best practices, and oversees updates to process documentation. The position acts as a key technical partner for Plant Operations, ensuring process stability, quality, safety, and alignment with global engineering standards.
What You’ll Do
  • Define the vision for the future state of the plant; develop and execute a roadmap with investment projects to reach the desired equipment, automation level, and operational performance.
  • Build, coach, and develop a strong manufacturing process team to meet and exceed role requirements and prepare for higher-responsibility positions.
  • Manage process changes resulting from improvement projects, replications, and deviation requests.
  • Lead the creation and update of process documentation.
  • Analyze process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and coordinate implementation with plant teams.
  • Conduct and maintain PFMEA / AMEF and support internal process audits.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering to develop automation and technology‑based solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with process specifications and monitor adherence through audits and operational data.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem‑solving with production, maintenance, and manufacturing support areas.
  • Contribute to the CMS / Design for Manufacturing process and ensure alignment with engineering standards.
  • Maintain compliance with the CAS (Quality–Environment–Safety) Management System, ISO 14001, and applicable operational controls.
  • Participate in incident investigations when required.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and provide input for HPT strategies.

  • A strong manufacturing process team deeply understands the process and proactively drives improvement and automation for the future state.
  • Process deviations are minimized; changes are managed efficiently and in compliance with plant and corporate standards.
  • Accurate and up‑to‑date process documentation aligned with technological requirements is always available.
  • Improvement initiatives reduce variability, improve efficiency, and enhance process capability.
  • Automation and technology upgrades are successfully implemented in collaboration with Controls Engineering.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration accelerates problem resolution and improves production performance.
  • Full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality management systems.

What You Bring
Education: Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineer.
Experience:
  • 5–8+ years in process and industrial automation within manufacturing (preferably automotive or battery manufacturing).
  • Practical experience solving complex operational problems.
  • Process engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with process audits, PFMEA, Six Sigma, material/energy balances, and 8D/CAPS methodology.
Technical Skills:
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC programming, robotics, HMI/SCADA, vision systems, and industrial protocols.
  • Strong understanding of process control, manufacturing specifications, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of automation concepts and close collaboration with Controls Engineering.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and EHS operational controls.
Language: English – 95% (technical proficiency required).
