Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and compassionate Overnight Awake Direct Support Professional to join our REACH residential team. This role is responsible for providing overnight supervision, safety monitoring, and direct support to individuals living in our residential program.
The Overnight DSP plays a key role in maintaining a secure, structured, and supportive environment while ensuring residents receive appropriate assistance throughout the overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide awake overnight supervision and support to individuals in the REACH residential program
- Observe and monitor residential systems including cameras, phones, and email communications, responding appropriately to needs and inquiries
- Maintain consistent communication with REACH, SAIL, and ASAT overnight and daytime teams during shift transitions
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or urgent situations involving residents
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including overnight logs and incident reports
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall security of the residential environment during assigned shifts
- Support a respectful, person-centered atmosphere aligned with agency mission and values
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred, OR a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with DDS systems and/or CARF standards preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and sound decision-making abilities
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Valid Connecticut driver's license required
- Ability to work consistent overnight awake shifts
