Patient Care Tech, Student Work Program - Float Pool - Mannington - Per Diem - 6:45pm-7:15am

The Patient Care Technician takes direction from the registered nurse. The main functions are to maintain a safe, clean environment in patient rooms and service areas, assist licensed personnel with basic patient needs and monitoring health and vital signs.

Education & Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Qualified candidates must meet one of the following:
  • Previous experience as a nurse aide/residential aide/patient aide with experience in supporting patients' activities of daily living and vital signs.
  • Completion of a nurse aide, multi-skilled tech or patient care tech course(s).
  • Completion of one clinical semester in an LPN/RN program

Work Requirements:

• 6 months 1-year experience preferred
• Must be enrolled in College Level classes
• This position is a per-diem, non-benefit eligible position which requires employees to work a minimum of 32 hours in a 6-month period between January 1 and June 28 and July 1 and December 31.
• There is 1 weekend shift required during each period.
• Education and Training does not count towards my periodic work commitment

Certification/Licensure:

• Current American Heart Association BLS required.
• Welle Training (computer and classroom) within six months of hire.
  • Certified Nurse's Aide license or Patient Care Technician certification preferred.
