Über
* Design and develop foundry tooling, including patterns and core boxes, using CAD software (Creo preferred) * Support RFQ processes for tooling and contribute to cost and timeline estimation * Analyze and resolve casting defects, including scrap reduction and re-gating strategies * Perform casting simulations (SolidCast preferred) to optimize tooling and process flow * Collaborate with engineers, tool designers, pattern makers, and manufacturing teams to ensure effective tool builds * Interpret machining prints and apply geometric tolerancing principles to designs * Apply best practices for no-bake and cold box molding processes * Provide direction to suppliers and support tooling build projects * Continuously improve tooling quality, performance, and production efficiency
Required Qualifications
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field * Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in foundry engineering and tooling design * Strong experience with foundry processes (no-bake and/or cold box) * Proficiency in CAD software (Creo highly preferred) * Experience with casting simulation tools (SolidCast preferred) * Strong understanding of pattern design, parting lines, offsets, clearances, and tooling layouts * Ability to read machining drawings and understand geometric tolerances * Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills * Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
* CNC machining knowledge * Experience working directly with tooling suppliers and shop floor teams
