Taylor, TX (Hybrid) Duration: 1 year + Job Summary We are seeking a Power System Engineer to provide engineering support and analysis for the integration of large flexible loads into the client system. This role involves reviewing interconnection studies for large loads and liaising with Transmission Service Providers to ensure compliance with the client and NERC requirements. The engineer will conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses of large load consumption behaviors and their impact on the reliability of the client interconnection. The successful candidate will develop tools, displays, policies, and procedures to facilitate the reliable integration of large loads and serve as a subject matter expert on related topics for the client management and teams. The position is open for candidates at Engineer levels 1, 2, 3, or Senior, depending on experience. Job Duties Engineer 1: Evaluate large load interconnection studies for accuracy and compliance with the client and NERC requirements under the guidance of senior engineers. Conduct power flow studies to assess the reliability of large load interconnection requests. Communicate the client requirements to Transmission Service Providers and entities wishing to interconnect large loads. Analyze large load behavior and its impacts on the client markets and real-time reliability. Gain knowledge of relevant market rules and departmental procedures. Engineer 2: Perform all duties of Engineer 1, with additional responsibilities including: Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure large loads are fully integrated into the client models and systems. Enhance knowledge of market rules and departmental procedures. Engineer 3: Perform all duties of Engineer 2, plus: Develop and maintain tools and reports for stakeholders to improve visibility of large load activity. Propose revisions to the client protocols to enhance reliability. Support client staff in technical committees and meetings. Engineer Sr: Perform all duties of Engineer 3, with additional responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert on large-scale topics. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure full integration of large loads into the client systems. Collaborate with management to develop team procedures and documentation. Experience Requirements Engineer 1: No prior job-related experience required beyond degree requirements. Strong communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred: Experience in developing situational awareness tools or coding. Engineer 2: Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience beyond degree requirements. Strong communication skills. Ability to read and understand electrical one-lines and drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred: Experience in powerflow studies and tools like Seeq, PI, and/or Jira. Engineer 3: Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience beyond degree requirements. Strong communication skills. Proficiency in reading electrical one-lines and drawings. Experience in power flow studies. Preferred: Experience with situational awareness tools and software like Seeq, PI, and/or Jira. Engineer Sr: Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience beyond degree requirements. Strong communication skills. Proficiency in reading electrical one-lines and drawings. Experience in power flow studies. Preferred: Experience with situational awareness tools and software like Seeq, PI, and/or Jira. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
