We are seeking a high performing, seasoned DevOps Transformation Lead & Evangelist to join our team. The DevOps Transformation and adoption role is a key leadership role at Cognizant. Accountabilities span across aspects of client services, from delivering complex DevOps transformation programs to selling and driving business with our customers, to managing and setting the direction of the practice and our people. Lead DevOps Community and client technical teams to address deployment and configuration management, release management, technical cutover, environments management and infrastructure automation. Architect DevOps/Agile Delivery Framework solutions for our clients by assembling leading DevOps practices for application and infrastructure services from development through to production to achieve business outcomes. Have excellent working knowledge of Cloud Platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and understand DevOps Culture and practice to be able to coach, mentor and train the development & Solution Delivery teams Liaise with Cognizant and client development teams, IT service groups & external partners to encourage process transparency, mutually beneficial design and delivery practices, and a clear view of roles and responsibilities across the Deployment Pipeline. Apply DevOps thinking to bring development and IT ops processes, people and tools closer to increase the speed, efficiency and quality of technical solutions to our clients. Provide DevOps thought leadership and mentoring in both advisory and delivery contexts, focusing on the requirements of our clients to best serve by continuous improvements to our delivery approach. Identify, lead, and close business development opportunities while cultivating and building long term relationships with senior executive clients. Contribute to the growth and development of the DevOps practice and create a learning environment through leadership and by participating in the development and delivery of industry training programs. Actively participates in professional association, industry, firm and community events and assume internal leadership roles focused on community development - recruiting, POV's and thought leadership/IP development. Proven experience actively mentoring and coaching team members and other junior resources across high performing engineering teams. Build business cases to help our clients understand the benefits that can be realized from a transformation program or by deploying a new solution. Seasoned leader to visualize and create best-of-breed automation leveraging DevOps tools. Ability to travel 50% or more as appropriate. Leadership Qualifications: Successfully led teams through major project engagements that involve Agile & DevOps cultural changes in the client ecosystem. Proven leadership experience - leading, not just managing. Proven track history of taking complex delivery problems and creating leaner, more collaborative solutions. Demonstrates clarity of thought and expression to win confidence from clients and partners. This includes oral and written communication skills, including persuasion and negotiation. Has the intellectual capacity to understand and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences? Technical Qualifications: Strong background in DevSecOps tools and pipelines for different technology ecosystems such as Java,.NET, Mainframe, COTS and SAS products. Expert level understanding of build and deployment systems, system configuration, job configuration and debugging. Experience setting up complete end-end fully integrated delivery systems (source control management, build tools, artefact repositories, deployment and monitoring systems). Experience with automation/configuration. A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Groovy, Perl and/or Ruby) particularly used within build pipeline automation. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service. Strong grasp of various automation tools. In-depth understanding of Microservices and Containerization, Docker Components and Orchestration using Swarm/Kubernetes. Architected solution and deep expertise on Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), setting up CI-CD for PaaS (Cloud Foundry, Open Shift) is a big plus. Deep knowledge of Infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible. Implementation experience in automation of environment provisioning. A strong focus on business outcomes. Education/Experience: Strong knowledge of DevOps design patterns, processes and best practices. 15+ years overall experience covering Application development, Architecture, Quality Assurance and Production support. 5+ years industry experience in DevOps architecture related to Continuous Integration/Delivery solutions & Platform Automation.
