Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Lead Test Engineer to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility. As the Lead Test Engineer for Tactical Communications, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for providing rapid prototype mission critical solutions to our customer community. The Lead is responsible for overseeing the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems within the Unified Testing Framework (UTF) environment. This role requires expert-level knowledge of testing methodologies, Python programming, and system integration practices to ensure product quality and reliability.QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and directionDevelop and maintain the test strategy for embedded productsArchitect test solutions that effectively validate system requirementsEstablish best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reportingLeading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments with key program stakeholdersDesign comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of product functionalityDevelop automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ following GDMS coding standardsImplement robust verification and validation methodologiesCoordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teamsEstablish integration procedures that ensure smooth component interactionSupport AGILE implementationCreate detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reportsMaintain accurate records of test activities and resultsAbility to develop ROMs in accordance with execution of requirementsConduct Performance reviews per processWhat you bring to the table: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experienceExperience leading 3 to 5 team members, holding team members accountable to program milestone executionExpert knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages, PythonStrong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologiesExperience with hardware/software integration testingSignificant experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP)Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsOutstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendorsWhat sets you apart: Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practicesFamiliarity with embedded systems development and testingExperience with requirements management and traceabilityBackground in defense or aerospace industriesTeam player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitmentsAbility to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexityCommitment to ongoing professional developmentRecognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areasOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation's securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Workplace Options:This position is fully on-siteWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Scottsdale, Arizona facilityEqual opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
