Our client is a growing enterprise insurance organization amid a major acquisition integration. Their IT PMO is actively maturing, building out capacity, demand, and portfolio management capabilities as the business scales. This is a high-visibility, high-impact contract role created to support one of the most consequential programs in the organization's recent history.
They are looking for a seasoned Program Manager to help steer integration workstreams tied to a recent acquisition, with a hard deadline to exit a Transition Services Agreement (TSA) by end of 2026. You will work directly with the IT PMO Director, a deeply experienced leader with over 17 years of M&A program management, and partner with executive and senior stakeholders across both IT and the business.
This is not a project manager role. They need someone who operates at the governance and steering level, manages expectations across senior stakeholders, and connects execution-level work to the broader program strategy.
*What You’ll Do*
* Steer assigned M&A integration workstreams at the program level. Set expectations, manage dependencies, escalate issues, and keep the program on track toward the TSA exit deadline.
* Own executive and senior stakeholder relationships across IT and the business. Drive alignment, create accountability, and diplomatically re-engage stakeholders who have been absent from critical decision-making.
* Coordinate monthly system cutovers and migration activities as part of Phase 1 of the integration. Ensure systems exit the acquired company’s environment on schedule.
* Manage project managers and executors within your assigned workstreams. Provide program-level governance, visibility, and direction.
* Work within the IT PMO framework using Target Process, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
* Support broader PMO maturity efforts as needed, including capacity, demand, and portfolio management.
* Manage light budget responsibilities within assigned workstreams.
*What We’re Looking For*
The ideal candidate is a politically savvy, collaborative Program Manager who has been through M&A integrations before and knows how to keep complex programs moving when stakeholders are scattered and timelines are tight.
*Required*
* 10+ years of program management experience, operating at the governance and steering level, not just project execution.
* Proven M&A integration experience. You have managed workstreams or programs in an acquisition context and understand TSA structures, integration phases, and handover to operations.
* Strong executive and senior stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable holding people accountable without creating conflict and can bring absent stakeholders back into the fold.
* IT infrastructure or systems integration program experience. You are comfortable with technically heavy projects including network, firewalls, mainframe, storage, and system migrations.
* Experience operating within structured PMO governance frameworks.
* U.S.-based with the ability to work in a maturing PMO environment where processes are still being built and refined.
*Preferred*
* Familiarity with portfolio management tools similar to Target Process, as well as JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
* Azure cloud environment familiarity.
* Experience managing GCC or offshore teams.
* Background in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
* Experience at a company transitioning from small or mid-size to large enterprise scale.
*Tools & Environment*
* Target Process (portfolio management)
* JIRA and Confluence
* MS Project
* Azure (primary cloud direction)
* Mix of on-premises and cloud infrastructure
*Why This Role*
* Work directly with a PMO Director who brings 17+ years of M&A experience and a collaborative, open leadership style.
* Supportive, non-bureaucratic culture. Collaborative internally, results-driven externally.
* High visibility. Your work directly shapes how the organization comes out of one of its most significant acquisitions.
* Fully remote, U.S.-based candidates only.
