This role is built around:
40% Training & Development
40% Hands-On Maintenance
20% Strategy & Planning
This is not a desk job. You will spend the majority of your time in the field—working on equipment, developing your team, and improving how maintenance gets done.
What You’ll Own
Training & Team Development (40%)
Lead from the field by training techs in real-time on equipment, troubleshooting, and best practices
Build capability across your team—turn average techs into strong performers
Partner with Operations to train site teams on preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Reinforce standards through hands-on coaching, not just meetings
Help develop and improve training programs that actually stick
Hands-On Maintenance & Field Execution (40%)
Work directly on equipment alongside your team—diagnosing and fixing issues in real time
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and chemical systems
Drive maximum uptime and wash quality across all sites
Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent fixes
Set the standard for urgency, quality, and execution in the field
Strategy & Planning (20%)
Build simple, effective preventative maintenance routines that reduce downtime
Use tools like MaintainX to support execution, tracking, and accountability
Prioritize resources, parts, and labor across your region
Partner with leadership on improvements that drive efficiency and ROI
Continuously look for ways to improve systems, not just fix problems
Operations Partnership
Work closely with General Managers and Operations Leaders to keep sites running at peak performance
Prioritize repairs that directly impact the guest experience
Ensure alignment between maintenance and operations—one team, one wash
Safety & Accountability
Lead safety from the front—proper procedures, PPE, and clean work environments
Identify risks early and take action immediately
Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory standards
What We’re Looking For
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience (industrial, automotive, or similar)
Proven ability to train and develop others in the field
Comfortable working with your hands, tools, and equipment daily
Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, hydraulics, or similar systems preferred
High ownership mindset—you take action and solve problems quickly
Able to balance execution, people development, and planning without overcomplicating things
What Success Looks Like
Equipment is running consistently with minimal downtime
Your team is stronger, more capable, and improving week over week
Sites deliver a clean, dry, and shiny car
