Rate: $24-28/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity in Cleveland, OH. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger support. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and eager to grow into a long-term role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Perform general ledger and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis
- Support audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests
- Collaborate with internal accounting and finance team members
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience (corporate or public accounting)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
- Experience with accounting software/ERPs a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
