JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Design (Web) is responsible for leading the design strategy, execution, and quality of all guest-facing web experiences across the full guest journey.
This role leads a team of designers and ensures that all web experiences are intuitive, consistent, accessible, and aligned to brand standards. The Senior Manager partners closely with Product, Technology, and Experimentation leadership to translate business and user needs into high-quality, scalable design solutions.
This role is accountable for design excellence, team performance, and the consistent application of the multi-branded Design System. The Senior Manager ensures that existing design components and patterns are leveraged wherever possible before introducing new solutions.
This leader drives continuous improvement in design practices, tools, and workflows, including the adoption of AI-enabled design capabilities to increase efficiency and quality across the team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop a team of web designers supporting multiple delivery pods. Assign designers to initiatives, balancing workload across enterprise programs, enhancements, and maintenance efforts. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to ensure high-quality output and professional growth. Establish clear design standards, expectations, and operating rhythms across the team. Experience Design & Execution
Oversee the design of end-to-end web experiences across acquisition, booking, account management, and post-cruise journeys. Ensure designs are user-centered, accessible (WCAG compliant), and aligned with brand guidelines. Guide creation of wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with technical constraints. Design System Governance
Drive adoption and consistent use of the Design System across all web experiences. Ensure teams leverage existing components, patterns, and standards before creating new designs. Partner with the Design System team to contribute enhancements, new components, and pattern improvements. Maintain consistency across brands while supporting necessary brand-level differentiation. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with:
Product Leadership to align designs with defined requirements and priorities. Technology Leadership to ensure feasibility and efficient implementation. Experimentation & Research leadership to incorporate insights and testing strategies into designs.
Participate in planning, refinement, and delivery ceremonies to ensure design alignment with execution. Design Quality & Governance
Establish and enforce design standards, accessibility requirements, and best practices. Ensure consistency across all web experiences and delivery pods. Review and approve design outputs to maintain quality and alignment. Promote reuse, scalability, and simplicity in design solutions. AI & Design Innovation
Drive adoption of AI-enabled design tools to improve productivity, speed, and quality. Identify opportunities to automate design workflows and accelerate iteration cycles. Stay current with evolving UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices. Continuously improve design processes and methodologies. Organizational & Operational Alignment
Align design capacity with product and technology delivery needs. Support planning cycles by providing design input on sequencing and effort. Ensure design work is properly scoped, tracked, and integrated into delivery workflows. Promote transparency and communication across stakeholders. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE:
Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY:
Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, or Related Field.
EXPERIENCE
7-10+ years of experience in digital product design, UX/UI design, or related disciplines. 3-5+ years of experience managing and developing design teams. Experience designing for enterprise-scale web platforms. Experience working within Agile, cross-functional delivery teams. Experience with design systems and component-based design approaches. Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams. Preferred:
Experience in hospitality, travel, cruise, gaming, or consumer-facing digital ecosystems. Experience working in multi-brand environments. COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Strong leadership and people management capabilities. Deep expertise in UX/UI design principles and best practices. Experience working with and scaling design systems. Strong understanding of accessibility and responsive design. Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Strong collaboration and stakeholder alignment skills. Experience leveraging modern design tools (e.g., Figma). Interest and experience in applying AI to design workflows. CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
Relevant certifications in UX/UI design, accessibility (WCAG), human-centered design, or digital product design preferred but not required.
