Description
- Assist in managing all operations within the facility, including, but not limited to: management of persons, eggs and equipment.
- Assist in managing and coordinating hatchery activities (i.e. egg pickup and delivery, care of eggs, incubation and hatching, grading, vaccination, preparation and shipment of chicks).
- Ensure adherence to Company, Safety, and Animal Welfare policies and procedures.
- Assist in management of animal welfare program.
- Assist in managing daily deliveries, and ensuring adherence to DOT requirements and safety procedures.
- All other relevant duties to the job.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Poultry, Animal Science or other closely related field.
- 4+ years hatchery management or leadership experience.
- Proficient knowledge of technology and computers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment within a hatchery utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
- Frequently sit for long periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Subject to dusty and hot environments.
- Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
- Work around raw, live animal odors.
