Retail Sales Representative Job Summary:
A leading building products organization is seeking a driven and customer-focused Retail Sales Representative to support residential sales growth in the West Michigan market. This role is responsible for conducting in-home consultations, presenting tailored product solutions, and guiding homeowners through the sales process. The Retail Sales Representative serves as a trusted advisor to customers, leveraging company-provided leads and proven sales processes to close business and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners to assess needs and present product solutions Utilize company-provided leads to drive sales (no cold calling or door-to-door prospecting) Demonstrate product offerings and recommend solutions aligned with customer needs and budget Guide customers through the sales process from initial consultation to close Maintain strong product knowledge and effectively communicate value propositions Leverage CRM tools and sales technology to manage pipeline and track activity Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics Qualifications:
Prior sales or customer-facing experience preferred Strong communication, presentation, and closing skills Self-motivated with a competitive and results-driven mindset Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule Valid driver's license required Ability to travel locally for in-home appointments Experience in home improvement or building products is a plus Compensation:
Base salary plus commission with total earning potential of $50,000 - $150,000+ High commission structure and performance-based bonuses Paid training and ongoing sales development Work Environment:
On-site in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area Travel required for in-home customer appointments throughout the territory
