We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Database & Product Data Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our Microsoft Access database system, building product listings on our ecommerce website, and supporting/troubleshooting product data management issues while focusing on improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration and design, along with expertise in various database technologies. This unique role combines product catalog work, web data entry, and Microsoft Access development, offering variety so the work never feels stale.
*Duties*
* Maintain and enhance our back-office system (Microsoft Access or SQL-backed) managing the various tables responsible for inventory, pricing, purchase orders, and related business logic in the Program.
* Write, review, and maintain Visual Basic (VBA) code, macros, stored procedures, and modules to automate data flows and troubleshoot errors.
* Diagnose and resolve bugs, performance issues, and data inconsistencies in the back-end system.
* Train with our retiring developer to inherit and take ownership of the existing Access database. Learn the in's and out's from the person that created the entire program!
* Collaborate with the product catalog and website team to build and maintain product data and troubleshoot website product listing issues.
* Perform basic photo editing (cropping, resizing) and PDF manipulations (merging, converting).
* Use Excel and Word to analyze, clean, and report data. Occasional Macro and VBA work in Excel.
* Create and maintain meticulous documentation of system design, code, and processes so future references quickly refreshes memory.
* Proactively propose improvements to system design, workflows, and data quality while working with team members that use it.
* Communicate effectively with team members to define requirements and deliver data solutions.
*Skills*
* 2–3+ years of hands-on experience writing in Visual Basic / VBA.
* Strong database experience with relational databases Microsoft Access or SQL.
* Impeccable attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Proficiency in Excel (formulas, macros, VBA) and Word.
* Basic photo editing and PDF handling skills.
* Strong troubleshooting and logical problem-solving abilities.
* Good communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Self-motivated and comfortable maintaining a legacy codebase.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
