CT Technologist

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based imaging department. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging studies for a diverse patient population, supporting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and privacy while operating CT scanners and related imaging equipment. The CT Technologist will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT examinations, verifying patient identification and clinical history, reviewing orders for appropriateness, and following established imaging protocols. You will operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images of the highest quality, adjusting technical factors as needed and ensuring proper use of radiation safety principles, including ALARA guidelines. This position requires careful screening for contraindications to contrast administration, starting and monitoring IV contrast injections when permitted by license and hospital policy, and observing patients for any adverse reactions. Candidates will be expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record and radiology information systems, verify and complete exam records, and ensure images are correctly labeled and transmitted to the picture archiving and communication system for radiologist interpretation. You will participate in quality control and quality improvement activities, assist in maintaining imaging equipment and supplies, and promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns. Collaboration is essential, as you will coordinate with the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics to prioritize and complete exams, particularly for critically ill and trauma patients. Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach are essential, as you will frequently provide education about CT procedures, address patient concerns, and help reduce anxiety before and during exams. This is a full-time position that may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as on-call rotation to support 24/7 imaging services.
