Our team blends deep program management expertise with Agile delivery practices, ensuring projects stay aligned with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes.We’re expanding our New York team and looking for a Project Manager who can thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, balancing accountability with collaboration and psychological safety.
*Role Overview*
As a Project Manager at CAPS, you’ll drive the success of multiple concurrent projects by coordinating cross-functional teams, engaging with clients, and ensuring delivery excellence. You’ll serve as the connective tissue between technical execution and business outcomes, helping CAPS scale impact while maintaining transparency and quality.
*Key Responsibilities1. Technical Project Delivery*
Lead end-to-end project delivery across multiple client initiatives (IT, infrastructure, cloud, audits, migrations).Translate complex technical designs into actionable project milestones and deliverable roadmaps. Track and report project metrics that matter (value delivered, customer impact, flow efficiency).
*2. Functional & Business Alignment*
Support efforts to define new projects/programs including scoping, sizing and planning. Facilitate development of business case, charter, project plan, communications plan, and requirements metrics with the input from the project teams.Facilitate gap analyses, impact assessments, and change-control documentation (DAR/CR). Oversee UAT, release readiness, and post-implementation performance validation.Track and report project metrics that matter (value delivered, customer impact, flow efficiency).
*3. Governance & Reporting*
Maintain structured governance documentation, including project charters, and sprint reports.Build and manage detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), dependencies, and cost baselines.Track and communicate delivery metrics—velocity, burn rate, backlog health, and value realization.Provide periodic status updates and executive dashboards for both CAPS leadership and client PMOs.Enforce compliance with contract SLAs, PMO frameworks, and public-sector audit requirements.
*4. Stakeholder & Team Leadership*
Serve as the primary interface between clients, technical teams, and business sponsors.Facilitate Agile ceremonies—standups, sprint planning, retrospectives—ensuring alignment across distributed teams.Identify and resolve delivery blockers through collaboration and escalation management.Promote a culture of transparency, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.Mentor junior PMs and coordinators on best practices in delivery management, risk handling, and reporting.
*QualificationsRequired*
5–10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in public sector, enterprise services, or regulated environments.Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall hybrid delivery models.Ability to analyze system dependencies, integration points, and configuration-level decisions.Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.

*Preferred*
Certifications: PMP, CSM, ITIL v4, or SAFe Practitioner.Familiarity with State IT governance, WIOA-related projects, or federal grant-funded systems.Background in public-sector data analytics, digital accessibility, or security compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP).

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
