Scope of the Role
AsProduct Design Engineer, youll take physical products from early feasibility through to mass manufacture. This is a delivery-focused role across CAD, prototyping, DFM, tooling and supplier liaison.
Develop detailed CAD using SOLIDWORKS across multiple live product development projects. Design plastic parts for tooling, moulding, assembly and cost-effective manufacture. Build, test and iterate prototypes using on-site facilities in Bridgend. Liaise with tooling suppliers in China and manufacturing partners in Kenya. Own three to four concurrent projects across accessories, lighting, cases and product variants.
Key Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience as aProduct Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Engineer delivering physical products. Strong SOLIDWORKS skills, or high proficiency in Creo, NX or Inventor. Plastic injection moulding experience, including DFM, tooling reviews and production sign-off. Comfortable owning detailed design work with limited hand-holding. Able to work on-site in Bridgend, with willingness to travel internationally.
Salary and Benefits
£35,000 to £40,000 basic salary, depending on experience. On-site prototyping facilities in Bridgend. International travel to suppliers and manufacturing partners in China and Kenya. Broad ownership across three to four live product projects at once. Pension and annual leave package to be confirmed at offer stage.
