In this role, you will provide direct clinical and administrative support in an outpatient or clinic setting. You will greet and prepare patients for visits, obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints, and assist providers during examinations and minor procedures. Within your scope of practice and in accordance with state regulations, you may administer medications and immunizations, perform EKGs and basic diagnostic tests, and collect laboratory specimens following established protocols and infection control standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining clean, well-stocked, and organized exam rooms, ensuring equipment is functioning properly and that all clinical areas meet Sanford Health’s high standards of safety and quality. Using an electronic health record system, you will enter and update patient information, support scheduling and follow-up coordination, and help manage patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency and reduce wait times. You will also play an important role in patient education, reinforcing provider instructions, answering basic questions, and helping patients and families feel informed, respected, and supported.
