*The Role*
As *Senior Interior Designer *at LOCH Studios, you’ll be the right hand to the Principal Designer—overseeing commercial projects from early planning through installation, while keeping the team focused, organized, and moving quickly.
This is a senior, high-trust role that blends *design fluency with strong operational leadership*. You’ll manage active projects, lead client communication, and ensure all drawings, schedules, and installations are executed with precision. You’ll also oversee a small team and help strengthen the systems that support a growing studio.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of *design, people, and execution*, and enjoys owning both the details and the big picture.

LOCH Studios is a boutique interior design firm based in Oakland, specializing in commercial workplaces for tech startups and scale-ups. We design thoughtful, culture-forward spaces that support how teams work—often integrating brand storytelling, environmental graphics, and carefully curated details. We are a 7 person team made of designers and project managers and looking to grow.
Our projects range from ~1,000 to 75,000 square feet for teams of 3 to 350, across the U.S. and internationally.
*Responsibilities*
*Project & Client Leadership*
* Serve as day-to-day lead across active projects
* Run weekly client check-ins and manage timelines, scope, and deliverables
* Anticipate risks and proactively course-correct
*Design Oversight & Technical Review*
* Review and oversee floorplans, test fits, elevations, and installation plans
* Ensure Revit / AutoCAD documentation is accurate and aligned with design intent
* Manage and mentor the incoming designers
*Team Management & Prioritization*
* Set weekly priorities and balance workloads across projects
* Lead internal project reviews and drive accountability
*Project Management & Operations*
* Partner with the Principal Designer to refine workflows, tools, and systems
* Help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with clarity
*Qualifications*
* 6–10+ years of project management experience in interior design, architecture, or a creative studio
* Strong technical design background; proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD
* Experience managing commercial projects from concept through installation
* Proven people manager with strong client-facing skills
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
* Fluent in Asana, Slack, Canva, Google Drive, and similar tools
* Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school
* Hospitality experience is recommended.
* 8+ years of post-graduate design experience with significant experience in high-end, conceptually driven design
* Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, or other 3D modeling software.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign)
* Outstanding communication and presentation skills
* Experience leading design teams and building strong client relationships
* Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of high-end FF&E, materials, and specifications
* Demonstrate a strong conceptual approach to design and persuasive presentation skills
* Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively with design directors and creative managing directors across the firm
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
