The National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®) is a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States. The NRMP is not an application processing service; rather, it provides an impartial venue for matching applicants' and programs' preferences for each other consistently. The NRMP conducts the annual Main Residency Match encompassing 40,000 applicants for more than 25,000 positions in core residencies as well as Matches for fellowship positions in 55 subspecialties through its Specialties Matching Service®.
POSITION SUMMARY
The NRMP is looking for a Data Analyst. This role will be responsible for the preparation of reports, publications and data sets for the NRMP and its constituents. This role will be engaged in building new reports, maintaining existing reports, and using SQL proficiently in data preparation and analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job)
Analyze and manage all reports across the enterprise throughout SDLC. Analyze and create datasets using SQL to uncover trends and drive actionable insights. Develop and test queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages to deliver accurate data intensive reports and data sets. Track, respond and deliver on incoming reporting and data requests from internal and external constituents and provide status updates to leadership. Actively engage in performance tuning of reports and query optimization. Perform unit testing of data and reports and engage in UAT at all stages. Work on periodic maintenance, enhancement and defect fixing in testing and UAT environment. Other responsibilities as assigned Key Requirements
A successful candidate will have the expertise and skills described below.
EDUCATION, PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
At least 3 years of work experience in data analysis/reporting in a full-time, salaried role within a corporate environment At least 3 years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of departmental and/or multi-departmental report initiatives. A bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or related field preferred. Familiarity with undergraduate and graduate medical education and the residency selection process is highly desirable. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and/or other programming tools building complex queries. Strong experience with python as a scripting language for ETL processes and data integration. Adept in agile methodologies and capable of applying DevOps principles. Experience with Crystal Reports is a plus Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Amazon Quicksight or other equivalent business intelligence tools is a plus. Internal:
Daily contact with NRMP staff. Occasional interaction with members of the Board of Directors and external consultants. External:
Interaction with external constituents to process reporting and data requests. Interaction with third-party software and IT vendors.
ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This position is primarily remote and sedentary; however, this position will be expected to attend meetings in the Washington, DC headquarters or other locations with sufficient notice and as directed by the CEO. There may be occasional overnight travel and duties may require some bending and lifting. The incoming salary range for this role is $73,790-$84,554, with growth potential from $73,790 to $93,270. Salary is commensurate with experience.
