About the Role We’re transforming healthcare through cutting‑edge technology, and we need a Staff Network Engineer who thinks beyond traditional boundaries. You’ll architect and optimize the network infrastructure that powers our AI‑driven healthcare solutions, working at the intersection of cloud innovation and critical healthcare delivery. This role is remote and reports to our Staff Cloud Engineer. U.S. work authorization required.
What You’ll Do
Architect and lead AWS network infrastructure including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and multi‑region connectivity strategies that scale with our growing healthcare customer base.
Design and implement secure hybrid connectivity solutions between customer on‑premises environments and AWS using advanced VPN architectures, BGP routing, and enterprise firewall integrations.
Drive network security initiatives by integrating firewalls, WAFs, and access controls into our infrastructure, with special focus on Palo Alto virtual appliances and healthcare compliance requirements.
Automate network infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code practices with Terragrunt and CloudFormation.
Lead customer‑facing technical communications during VPN deployments and incident response, translating complex networking challenges into clear action plans for diverse stakeholders.
Mentor engineering team members on network architecture decisions while maintaining comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and system diagrams that support our operational excellence.
Participate in on‑call rotation for network emergencies, driving rapid diagnosis and resolution of issues that impact healthcare operations.
What You Have
Deep hands‑on experience designing, operating, and scaling AWS network architectures including VPCs, routing, Transit Gateway, and multi‑region strategies.
Strong experience designing and troubleshooting enterprise VPN connectivity (IPsec, IKE, BGP, route‑based and policy‑based VPNs) with multi‑region and failover scenarios.
Proven experience integrating enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet) into cloud environments with an understanding of defense‑in‑depth strategies.
Comfort working within Linux environments and troubleshooting network behavior at the system level.
10+ years of networking or infrastructure engineering experience with significant operational responsibility and technical leadership.
Bonus Points For
Experience with Kubernetes networking (EKS or similar container orchestration platforms).
Automation experience with Terraform and scripting languages such as Python or Go.
Experience architecting for HIPAA or regulated healthcare environments.
Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud networking architectures.
