We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Carpenter/Superintendent to oversee construction projects and manage on-site operations. This role requires a strong background in various aspects of construction, carpentry, and restoration industries, with the ability to lead teams effectively and ensure project quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of construction techniques and tools, including blueprint reading, framing, roofing, and finishing work. Would also like the canidate to design and sell decks as well! This position offers an opportunity to lead dynamic projects, coordinate skilled tradespeople, and contribute to high-quality craftsmanship across diverse construction environments.
*Responsibilities*
* Supervise daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
* Coordinate and assign tasks related to framing, decking, siding, and other carpentry-related activities
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution
* Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance
* Design and bid decking projects
* Manage material procurement and estimate project costs accurately
* Lead heavy lifting operations and coordinate the use of scaffolding or lifts as needed for high-reach or complex installations
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards across all phases of construction or restoration work
* Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to facilitate smooth project flow
* Conduct quality inspections throughout the project lifecycle to maintain high standards of craftsmanship
* Train and mentor crew members in specialized skills such as concrete forming, electrical work, and composite decking.
*Skills*
* Extensive experience in construction estimating and blueprint reading
* Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and equipment such as a skid steer.
* Strong background in carpentry disciplines, including framing (wooden and metal), trim carpentry
* Sales
* Skilled and knowledge in masonry work, decking (including composite), siding (vinyl and LP) general carpentry, and sales. Roofing knowledge would be a plus.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and enforce safety standards effectively
This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional seeking a leadership position that combines technical expertise with project management responsibilities. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
