The Principal, Corporate Modelling and Reporting, will be responsible for developing complex, multi-scenario financial models and providing insightful internal reporting to support executive decision-making. The role synthesizes diverse financial, operational, and strategic variables into concise, actionable insights. It supports the corporation’s planning cadence, enhances internal forecasting and reporting processes, and collaborates with Corporate Planning, Data & Analytics, and Performance Management to improve Finance ERP planning and reporting functionalities. The position requires seasoned judgment, expert analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to senior leaders and peers.

Responsibilities:

Financial Modelling & Analytical Leadership

  • Build and maintain advanced integrated financial models incorporating scenario simulations, sensitivity analyses, stress testing, and dynamic variable frameworks.
  • Translate complex modelling outputs into clear, actionable insights that articulate financial impacts, key drivers, and recommended actions for senior leadership.
  • Support identification, evaluation, and measurement of cost-optimization programs, providing financial analysis to assess improvement potential and validate effectiveness.
  • Develop and refine the financial decision-making frameworks that guide corporate-level financial assessments, target setting, and investment prioritization.
  • Establish and monitor leading indicators for key financial and operational areas to support earlier identification of meaningful trends and inform forward-looking financial models.

Corporate Planning & Internal Reporting

  • Lead the development of corporate-level financial targets and decision frameworks that inform annual planning, forecasting, and strategic evaluations carried out across the organization.
  • Leverage internal reporting datasets to craft executive-ready presentations and analytic narratives that highlight performance drivers, trend inflections, and priority areas requiring leadership focus.
  • Interpret monthly and quarterly performance results to clearly communicate wins, losses, and underlying causal factors, identifying further opportunities that build on positive trends and supporting mitigation approaches where needed.
  • Use internal reporting insights to continuously refine and enhance corporate financial models, improving accuracy, relevance, and strategic usefulness.
  • Define and evolve leading indicators and early-signal metrics that strengthen financial and operational decision-making.

Planning Systems, Data & Process Enhancement

  • Collaborate with Performance Management, Data & Analytics, and Corporate Planning teams to improve the effectiveness, consistency, and scalability of planning, forecasting, and internal reporting processes.
  • Assess planning and reporting workflows by combining insights from Finance ERP environments with custom analytical models to identify the most effective approaches that should be embedded into planning cycles and internal reporting
    structures.
  • Provide analytical guidance that helps teams prioritize process improvements and reporting automation efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic financial modelling needs and corporate priorities.
  • Support the development of strengthened data structures, governance practices, common metric definitions, and integrated planning workflows by contributing business-logic leadership and modelling insights.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Advisory

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Commercial, and HR business units to validate assumptions, pressure-test financial projections, assess operational feasibility, and align on performance expectations.
  • Provide clear, persuasive analytical guidance to internal stakeholders by articulating financial implications, resolving complex analytical challenges, and recommending actionable solutions.
  • Co-develop margin-expansion initiatives and capital-efficiency programs by supporting financial sizing, scenario evaluation, prioritization, and return-on-investment perspectives.
  • Integrate insights from financial models, reporting outputs, and business feedback into comprehensive decision-support materials for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; MBA/CFA/CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Corporate Financial Planning, Financial Analysis, or Data and Analytics within large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex financial modelling, scenario design, and multi-variable analysis. Paired with strategic presentation preparation.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint is a requirement.
  • Experience with SAP, SAC Planning tools is an asset.
  • Data modelling and analysis tools (e.g. Alteryx, or similar) is an asset.
  • SQL, VBA, Python or other programming languages are an asset.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with competing priorities.
  • Airline industry experience is an asset.
