Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Radiology Tech (CT) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within the radiology department. In this role, you will perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) and general radiologic imaging exams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment for a diverse patient population. Working in a fast-paced hospital and clinical environment, you will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care aligned with our mission as a leading not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas. The Radiology Tech (CT) is responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT procedures, verifying orders and protocols, and operating CT scanners and related imaging equipment in accordance with established standards, manufacturer guidelines, and Baylor Scott & White Health policies. You will assess patient condition, explain procedures, address questions and concerns, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the exam. You will follow radiation safety and ALARA principles, select appropriate technical factors, and utilize dose reduction techniques while maintaining diagnostic image quality. Daily responsibilities include reviewing exam requests for appropriateness, confirming patient identification and history, screening for contraindications such as allergies, renal function concerns, or implanted devices, and coordinating with providers to clarify or adjust orders as needed. You will establish and maintain IV access when required, administer contrast agents per protocol and scope of practice, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or changes in clinical status, initiating appropriate response and escalation when necessary. You will also support emergency and time-sensitive imaging, including stroke, trauma, and other critical cases, prioritizing exams and collaborating closely with the clinical care team. The Radiology Tech (CT) will perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and radiology information system, ensure proper image labeling, and transmit images through PACS for timely interpretation. You will participate in quality control activities, including routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and reporting of equipment malfunctions or image quality concerns to appropriate personnel. You will adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will interact with patients and families from varied backgrounds, explaining complex procedures in a clear, respectful manner and supporting an inclusive, patient-centered environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and flexibility with scheduling, including potential evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts depending on departmental needs. As part of Baylor Scott & White Health’s culture of caring, collaboration, and innovation, you will be encouraged to contribute ideas that enhance workflow, patient experience, and clinical quality. Baylor Scott & White Health offers opportunities for ongoing professional growth and advancement. As a Radiology Tech (CT), you will have access to continuing education, cross-training, and potential advancement into advanced imaging roles, lead technologist positions, or related clinical specialties. You will be supported by a comprehensive network of hospitals, clinics, and specialty care facilities, with the chance to work alongside experienced radiologists and technologists who are committed to mentoring and knowledge sharing. We are seeking candidates with formal training in radiologic technology, current or eligible ARRT certification, and a strong foundation in cross-sectional anatomy, CT physics, and imaging protocols. Prior CT experience in a hospital or high-volume imaging center setting is preferred, along with demonstrated competence in patient care, IV contrast administration (where permitted by state regulations), and the safe operation of CT equipment. Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems, electronic medical records, and standard office and imaging software is important for success in this role. By joining Baylor Scott & White Health as a Radiology Tech (CT), you will be part of an organization that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation in healthcare delivery. You will play a key role in providing timely, accurate diagnostic imaging that supports life-changing care across our integrated system, while benefitting from a supportive workplace that invests in your development, well-being, and long-term career path in medical imaging.
