Respiratory Therapist

CenterPoint Health, a mission-driven provider of integrated primary care, dental care, and behavioral health services, is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide hands-on respiratory care to a diverse patient population, many of whom are part of underserved communities, helping to improve access to high-quality, affordable care. You will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, administer treatments and therapies, manage oxygen and aerosol delivery systems, and support patients with chronic and acute respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and heart failure. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and care coordinators, you will contribute to individualized care plans that address both immediate respiratory needs and long-term disease management. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient status, interpreting arterial blood gases and other diagnostic data, managing non-invasive and invasive ventilation in appropriate settings, ensuring safe and effective use of respiratory equipment, and maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record. You will educate patients and families on inhaler technique, home oxygen use, smoking cessation support, and strategies to reduce exacerbations, empowering them to better manage their respiratory health.
