In this role, you will serve as Pilot in Command on air medical missions, safely transporting critically ill and injured patients between scenes and healthcare facilities. Operating within the healthcare and medical services industry, you will work closely with flight paramedics, flight nurses, communications specialists, and hospital partners to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate air transport during time-sensitive emergencies. You will be responsible for all aspects of flight operations, including pre-flight planning, weather evaluation, performance and weight-and-balance calculations, fuel planning, and strict adherence to FAA regulations, Med-Trans policies, and industry best practices. During missions, you will exercise sound aeronautical decision-making, maintain situational awareness, effectively manage cockpit resources, and communicate clearly with medical crew, dispatch, air traffic control, and ground personnel. You will operate a modern, well-maintained helicopter fleet using advanced avionics and safety technologies, often flying in challenging environments and under demanding conditions while maintaining a constant safety-first mindset. As a Med-Trans Helicopter Pilot, you will participate in ongoing training, safety meetings, and simulation or check-ride evaluations to continuously refine your technical proficiency, emergency procedures, and risk management skills. You will contribute to a just culture by reporting safety concerns, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and serving as a role model for operational discipline and crew coordination. This position requires flexibility to work a rotating schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as readiness to respond rapidly to emergent flight requests. You must be comfortable working in an air medical environment in close coordination with clinical teams during high-stress, life-critical situations.
